Companies and Recruiters

The Texas Energy Forum is a student-run energy interest group at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. The group’s primary objective is to promote insight, perspective, and exposure into the energy industry through interaction between students, businesses, and academics.  With our nation’s energy hub in Houston located in close proximity to our campus, our purpose is to help connect students to the companies, recruiters, experts, news and issues within the industry, and to serve as a central hub for all things energy  at the University of Texas at Austin.

Our website (texasenergyforum.blogspot.com) and our associated social media sites serve as a central information resource for students wanting to stay up to date with the multitude of the energy-related events going on or around campus. We also host and cohost events of our own, ranging from large corporate presentations to more intimate discussions with smaller audiences interested in specific careers and topics. In the past, the events we’ve hosted have focused on corporate profiles and on-campus visits with recruiters, industry research topics in our Faculty Research Seminar lectures, and general industry and career information sessions. We have hosted representatives from companies such as Shell, BP, Caterpillar, and Austin Energy at our own events, and we have promoted the events and presentations of dozens of other companies on campus. Some of our past Faculty Research Seminar Lectures have exposed students to such topics as:

·         The Option Value of Climate Engineering: Exploring the Costs and Benefits of Solutions to Global Warming”, by Dr. Eric Bickel, Cockrell School of Engineering

·         Enhanced Oil Recovery Techniques: Increasing Returns on Energy Resources” by Dr. Larry Lake, Cockrell School of Engineering

If you are interested in reaching out to a population of students who are considering a career or have a field of interest in the energy industry, please contact us at texasenergyforum@gmail.com, or feel free to reach out to one of the officers below. We can help you reach the right target audience, with the right message, at the right place and time. It’s our goal to connect students to the industry, and we want to help you find students looking to connect with your company. Also be sure to check out our website (texasenergyforum.blogspot.com) to learn more about our events and our organization.
